Knitting again!

STR Farmhouse Jaywalkers - start

Originally uploaded by bunnydozer

It’s been since last year, but I’ve finally started knitting again. I’m easing into it with Jaywalkers, a simple but interesting pattern. Hopefully my eyesight will hold up for me to finish it!

Motorcycle Chica Gloves: Acorns!!!

My MCG’s are FINALLY done. I started them in May, and finished them months ago. I just had the finishing to do. Last night I added on the buttons and they are DONE! Wheeeeee! I wore them to work and I love how they turned out. Someday I think I’ll make a second pair.

Finished Booga Bag!

Finished Booga Bag

Originally uploaded by bunnydozer

I was feeling productive on Friday…. I finally finished Jen’s Booga bag. It turned out proportionally different, but I think it’s cute. I tied the knots and stitched them up to hold the shape. I even spent some time sewing up the Motorcycle Chica Gloves. I got all the ends in except for the strings I’ll use to sew in the buttons. But when I went to put those on, I couldn’t find them!!! So, I’ll be button hunting this week.

Calacas Bag

Janelle’s Bag

Originally uploaded by Funessa

I was cleaning out the closet the other day and I had a bunch of stuff that didn’t fit anymore. I decided to make a angora & wool tank into a shopping bag. It’s embroidered with little calacas and skeletons in a Dia de los Muertos theme. Funessa was lovely enough to let me use her washing machine to felt it. Once it’s dry I’ll probably add a border stitch or something.

One thing about felting angora, this sucker is SHEDDING. I think I’ll have to shave it before I start using it. :)

Introducing Nikolai!

Stella & Nikolai

Originally uploaded by bunnydozer

After Chernobyl’s passing Stella was pretty down. We contacted Chinchilla rescue to see if there were any available neutered males. Nikolai and Stella hit it off so we brought him home. He was formerly with a family that had a lot of pets, several of which wanted to eat him. Needless to say he was very stressed out and lost a lot of fur. He’s grown most of it back but he’s still a little manky. I’m sure he’ll be beautiful in no time! On her part, Stella seems a little more energetic with him around. We’ll watch and see how it goes!!

Chernobyl passed away 09/10/07

Chernobyl

We had to make the awful decision to put Chernobyl to sleep last monday. I really miss his little squeaks. :( He was really more my chin, and I stayed with him until the very end. For her part, Stella seems to be a little down too. I think we have to look into a new partner for her even though it’s the last thing I want to do right now.
